What is an ideathon™?

Ideathon™ is a marathon ideation event with a fundraising aspect. A Cross-pollination of idea generation and fundraising. A typical ideathon runs 7-60 days. Ideas are managed via a feature rich collaborative online brainstorming platform that allows anyone to submit solutions and collaborate on ideas which may benefit the host organisation and society. Part idea generation, part team building, part community building, part fund-raising, part awareness building, the ideathon brings together many perspectives and positive elements to make one great event.

In the spirit of other sponsored marathon events such as MS Readathon, Spellathons and Walkathons, the ideathon enables organisations to engage a wider audience in a fund-raising campaign with a twist. In this case, sponsors support individuals and teams by donating an amount for each idea generated and each evaluated idea which is submitted to the site on behalf of the team. The latest idea generation and creative thinking skills are taught as as part of this enjoyable event and participants learn to work as a team.
